Over the last few weeks, I have been overwhelmed with correspondence with regards to the Tory proposal to repeal the Hunting Act 2004, and so re-introduce Fox Hunting.
If a vote was held, I would vote against.
Land management and protection of livestock are incredibly important but fox hunting is a cruel and ineffective way of achieving this. The most frustrating thing is that we are even having this conversation - 84% of people agree and supported banning this barbaric sport - instead of talking about how we fund and support our vital public services, like the NHS and Education.
Unfortunately, the Tory candidate does not agree, and has stated he would support the repeal.
This is my letter to residents explaining why I am against repealing this Act. You can also sign the petition against fox hunting here: http://www.labour.org.uk/…/acti…/keep-the-ban-on-fox-hunting
