Schools in South Gloucestershire are already under funded. Now under current Tory Plans, the 30 schools in Kingswood could be cut by on average £446 per pupil or the equivalent of 5 teachers per school. School governors are already having to make tough decisions, and over the last week I have spoken with parents and residents in 12 of the 30 schools in Kingswood about how it is affecting them, you can check your school here http://www.schoolcuts.org.uk
By cutting the number of teachers, removing pastoral support or increasing class sizes, it denies our children of the opportunity to realise their potential, and learn and grow into active citizens.
I believe our children deserve better, and Labour's plan for a National Education Service will fairly fund our schools and colleges properly to allow every child in Kingswood the opportunity to reach their potential - including supporting those not in education, employment or training.
